Am I missing something or is this totally contradictory??

For other airline partners, send the original boarding pass(es) and a legible copy of your ticket or your electronic ticket receipt by mail to:

Please include your name, address, telephone numbers and Aeroplan number.

To make sure you receive the miles to which you’re entitled, please retain all original boarding passes, as well as copies of all tickets or electronic ticket receipts, until you see that the Aeroplan Miles you’ve earned are credited to your account.
