The Grade 7s at my JHS had a guest speaker today. He spoke to them about the dangers of smoking. Just before the seminar, 3 teachers grabbed a quick smoke in the smoking corner of our staffroom.

Yes, they are allowed to smoke in the staffroom -even when there are students present.

Here are some photos of my trip to Gunma prefecture.


A friend and I left Saturday morning, took in the Gunma flower park, hit up a driving range, had yakiniku, and went for a drive in Akagi City. On Sunday we golfed all day and then went to a great soba restaurant before heading back home.

A lovely drive, great food, interesting conversation and a not so good golf score. A pretty good weekend overall.
