I am horribly jealous!! HG Wells said "Every time I see an adult on a bicycle, I no longer despair for the future of the human race."

I was riding home the other day and noticed that there was a group of cyclists training on my route...I figured that I would stay in front of them. BAH! They blew past me so fast it left me dizzy. It was then that I noticed that they were teenagers...I told Kelly that I need a faster bike. She told me I need faster legs.

you both know my savings plan...

Sista, I'll STRAP your new bike to my roof rack if you need it.

Colin - I know you've got zillions of miles under your belt - any words of wisdom for the beginner?

Wise words of wisdom...

1. Get yourself some SPD pedals. They will give you the most bang for your buck in terms of riding fast.

2. Keep your cadence fairly high. If you have to really push hard on the pedals, gear down. On the other hand, you shouldn`t be bouncing around in the saddle either.

3. Relax your upper body, especially your shoulders. It is a sure sign of fatigue when your upper body starts going from side to side.

4. Always carry a spare tube, compact air pump and tire levers! Punctures happen at the worst of times!

5. Go hard, go fast or go home!
