a bold prediction...yeah, right

today, but really tomorrow in my 'home country', is election day.

as usual, i didn't vote. i think i've voted once in my years of eligibility...about 10 years ago -and only because it was the first time i could, so i did.

here's my prediction -knowing nothing about what any of the parties stand for or what's at stake.

the liberals will still lead Canada-land after January 23, 2006.

in other words, nothing will change. if something does and the bloc get in or the tories...well, maybe i'll pay more attention to politics.

maybe.

but I wouldn't have known who to vote for...it's like choosing between squid or ocotopus....I don't want either!!!

there were more than two choices on the menu...and there is another option...i think it is called declining your ballot...don't know if you can do it in absentia...you hand your ballot back, unmarked and tell them that you chose not to chose...they record it as declined or whatever the term is and at least you took a stand...
i sort of understand your apathy toward the election, being removed from it all as you are, but i am a bit suprised that you have only voted once since being eligible!
Honestly...the way the government has been functioning (or malfunctioning) the last 20 years i believe it is even more important for as many people as possible to pay attention and make a choice or officially not make a choice as a protest (if that is your choice).
Okay...lecture done...
oh..of note..the green party got something like 5% of the total vote in this last election (no seats), but who would have thought 20 years ago that they would have gotten any votes!
okay...done ranting...

I didn't know I could defer my vote. Interesting. I'll remember that next time.

Hm, when will that be, in year or two? [rolls eyes]
